Yes, it's true. Conservative 'hate radio' talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, is having such a hard time getting and keeping sponsors for his show due to the national boycott, he's airing promo ads of himself. That's right. He'll show those pesky boycotters, protestors, and
petitioners who's the boss! Don't mess with Rush or he'll come back with… Rush.
On January 14, during a normal sponsor break on WJR in Detroit, only one ad (Square Trade) played, followed by PSAs (public service announcements) and promos for other shows on the same network. During that break (where many large prominent sponsors once lived), a monitoring StopRush volunteer noted two unusual promos for The Rush Limbaugh Show. It was documented in the StopRush.net Database by the people who monitor his shows. Of course, before the ad break, Limbaugh was blaming and ranting about how 'folks' should be livid with the Democrats and the president, for Obama's constant abuse of executive powers - and everything bad in the world. (It's what he does when he's not bullying, degrading, lying, slandering and provoking hatred about blacks, LGBT (Lesbians, Gays, BiSexuasl & Transgenders) women, hispanics…)
He's a good little Koch-sucker and keeps the propaganda going for the Tea Party, because that's what he's paid to do! But, Limbaugh's career is in ruins, and began taking its dive days after he verbally attacked an unknown law student calling her a 'slut' for advocating for birth control. It seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back, just around the time the public was discovering the power of social media. Now consumers can contact, petition, protest, and boycott companies simply by posting on their Facebook/Twitter pages. No stamps, long letters, trips to the post office, hours on the phone… Can't get to Rush? Get to his lifeline, his advertisers - in seconds.
When the Rush Limbaugh Sponsor Boycott began, Limbaugh compared losing sponsors, to losing a few french fries. After thousands of 'french fries' left his show during the last three years, Limbaugh has become a very angry and bitter UnHappy Meal. He's tried every trick to expose and unethically attack StopRush volunteers and win back sponsors. When contacted by concerned consumers, many sponsors spilled the beans, revealing Limbaugh offered them deep discounted/free ads. And some of them turned down those generous offers. The reason - Limbaugh can be the kiss of death for a company's reputation and bottom profit line. Studies have proven it's a very bad idea to ignore social media complaints. Blow off someone who's writing you on Facebook and Twitter, and their bad experience might just go viral for millions of customers to see. It's easier to just pull the ads from Limbaugh's show. So, that's what they do.
